ZETA-JONES BACK IN TREATMENT

Catherine Zeta-Jones has returned to a clinic to deal with her bipolar disorder, but she hasn't gone off the deep end. She's simply trying to continue dealing with her condition in a responsible and appropriate manner. Now that's a Hollywood news flash. "Catherine has proactively checked into a health care facility," rep Cece Yorke told People magazine. "Previously Catherine has said that she is committed to periodic care in order to manage her health in an optimum manner." The actor went to a Connecticut facility in 2011 to deal with her mood swings, and is going in for a checkup of sorts. "There was no big problem," an unnamed friend tells the mag. "This was just a good time to do it. She is in between projects. This has always been part of the plan. She would manage her health. She is vigilant about it." Between this and Jason Segel willingly joining Alcoholics Anonymous, coping with problems in an adult way may be the next big thing.

Fassbender to play Macbeth

Irish-German actor Michael Fassbender will be keeping busy playing the lead in the Scottish play, according to ScreenDaily.com. We have to write it that way, because it's bad luck for actors to say Macbeth. Whoops, we messed that one up. The site says Fassbender will be in the latest version of William Shakespeare's epic murderfest, directed by Snowtown's Justin Kurzel and produced by The King's Speech company See Saw. There's no word on casting for Lady Macbeth yet, but we'd like to suggest Amanda Bynes, 'cause she's cray-cray. This version is supposed to focus on a lot of action and battle scenes, so even people who never bothered to learn 13th-century English can dig it.
