Synthetic marijuana seized at store

Authorities seized more than 200 packets of synthetic marijuana Friday from a convenience store and arrested the manager, Pasco County Sheriff's deputies said.

Tips led deputies to a Mobile Food Mart at 36952 State Road 54, where packets of "spice" were found in a freezer at about 4 p.m., Sheriff's Office spokesman Doug Tobin said.

The manager, 47-year-old Tammy Embrey, faces drug possession and trafficking charges, Tobin said. She was being booked into jail Friday evening.

Deputies with a search warrant seized 210 spice packets and drug paraphernalia, he said. They also found a letter from the Sheriff's Office warning businesses of a "pending crackdown" on the synthetic drugs, which can subject business owners to a fine of $500 per packet.
