FLORIDA ATLANTIC FALLS ON LAST-SECOND KICK

BOCA RATON - Justin Haig's 41-yard field goal as time expired capped Marshall's comeback in a 24-23 victory against Florida Atlantic on Saturday.

Down nine in the fourth quarter, the Thundering Herd cut the deficit to 23-21 with 6:47 to play on a 41-yard pass from Rakeem Cato to Gator Hoskins on fourth and 5.

After forcing an Owls punt, Marshall began its final drive at its 9 with 2:19 left. Highlighted by his 35-yard completion to Devon Smith, Cato led the Thundering Herd 67 yards to set up Haig's field goal. Cato finished with 216 yards passing and 45 rushing.

UAB 27, FIU 24: Ty Long's 28-yard field goal with 10 seconds left lifted the visiting Blazers. UAB drove 70 yards in 2:31, including pass interference on a third-down incompletion.

Bethune-Cookman 27, Howard 6: Anthony Jordan ran for two first-quarter touchdowns for the visiting Wildcats. The Bison entered leading the MEAC in total offense (396.4 yards per game) and passing offense (239.4) but had just 186 and 120, respectively, while converting 2 of 13 third downs. The Wildcats have allowed 13 points or fewer in each game against I-AA opponents. (They allowed 54 to Florida State.)

FAMU 27, Savannah St. 14: Damien Fleming threw two touchdown passes for the visiting Rattlers, who ended a four-game losing streak. Lemond Buice's 11-yard run and Devonte Johnson's 63-yard punt return put FAMU up 14-0 in the first quarter.

Dayton 49, Stetson 20: The visiting Flyers scored four touchdowns among their first 10 plays. After the Hatters (1-5, 0-3 Pioneer) fumbled on the game's first series, Connor Kacsor ran 21 yards for score. After a three-and-out came a four-play touchdown drive for Dayton (4-2, 2-1). Soon after came a 61-yard run by Robert Washington and 77-yard pass from Will Bardo to Gary Hunter.
