DESMOND, Marie A. passed away in Clearwater, on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren. Native to Connecticut, Marie moved to Florida in 1976 with her husband, David J. Desmond and four daughters. She worked in various accounting positions and retired from Pinellas County Parks Department in 2008. She is survived by her daughters, Leigh Webb, Jill Desmond, Kelly LaBrecque and Bonnie Desmond; along with her twelve grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. HAINES, Homer L. "Butch" age 67, of Tampa, passed away on Oct. 8, 2013. He was born on Nov. 9, 1945 in Akron, OH. He served in the U.S. Air Force and he retired with 35 years of service from Delta Air Lines. Butch is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jane Haines; son, Shawn Haines; daughter, Carri Haines Guin; sister, Kathryn Bair; grandchildren include, Blake Haines 17, Bradley Haines 13, Madison Guin 8, Mayson Guin 5; and many nieces and nephews. HENRY, Eleanor Michael 93, of St. Petersburg went to Heaven on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013. She was born on Sept. 15, 1920 to Herman E. and Myrna Michael in Centerville, OH. Eleanor spent most of her childhood in Dayton, OH until she moved to New York City. There she pursued a singing career and worked at NBC television studios in the early 1950's on the Today show team. She was married for 38 years to Clifford W. Henry. They were married at Marble Collegiate Church in New York City and her twin children were baptized there by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. Locally, Eleanor was a member of the First United Methodist Church in St. Petersburg. She enjoyed literature, music, the arts, travel and writing. She was in the process of finishing her third book of an autobiographical series. She had a deep passion and love of life and lived by the philosophy of "keep on keeping on". Eleanor was a woman of deep faith and she will be missed by all who loved her. She is survived by her children, William Michael Henry (Maryl) of Sarasota, and Sally Henry Lyle (Robin) of St. Petersburg; and her stepbrother, Lawrence Gilbert (Angie) of St. Louis, MO. HUCK, Clemence 83, of Tarpon Springs, passed away Oct. 12, 2013, with his wife and family by his side at Suncoast Hospice in Palm Harbor. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Jeanne; his sons, Mark Huck, Michael Huck (Kim), and Christopher Huck (Nancy); and his daughter, Kathleen Laird (John); four grandchildren; a sister; and two sisters-in-law. He is predeceased by his parents; three sisters and one brother. Clem was born and raised in Lowell, OH. After receiving his degree in mechanical engineering from Ohio University, he served his country as an officer in the Air Force. After marrying Jeanne, he started his career with IBM in Owego, NY. He retired with 34 years of service, and they moved to Tarpon Springs in 1995. Clem enjoyed visits with his family, gardening, traveling, and watching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. JONES, Helen Marie McDonough 91, of Largo, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013. She was born July 21, 1922 in Boston, MA. She retired from Largo Elementary School as a 4th grade teacher and was named Outstanding Teacher of the Year for the State of Florida. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Framingham State University in Home Economics and studied elementary education at Florida State University. She and her late husband, Jack L. Jones, were married for 67 years. She is survived by a sister, Corinne Austin of Avon, CT; two children, Marianne Evans Mount of Leesburg, VA, and Peter D. LYONS, Heidi Meierhof 70, passed peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, in the gentle care of Hospice with her family by her side. Born Aug. 17, 1943 in Eisenberg, Germany, Heidi and her family migrated to the United States when she was 12 years old. In 1960, she married her high school sweetheart, Jack, in Wexford, PA. They moved to Florida in the 1970's, settling in New Port Richey. Heidi is survived by her husband, Jack Lyons; daughters, Karen Koch and Sherry Despota; grandsons, John, Jeremy & Jayme Despota and Tanner & Jake Koch; and her sister, Ursula Kaminski. A tireless advocate for abused, abandoned, and neglected children, she left her footprint throughout the Bay area. Visionary and Co-Founder of A Kid's Place of Tampa Bay, a unique, state of the art, 60 bed residential care facility for foster siblings, 2009. Co-Founder Kids Charity of Tampa Bay, a non-profit agency designed to support foster children throughout the Tampa Bay area, 2005. Founder of Friends of Joshua House Foundation, a non-profit organization providing support and sustainability to the children served at Joshua House, 2004. Co-Founder of Joshua House, a therapeutic residential shelter for abused, abandoned, and neglected children in Lutz. In 1991, Dottie has served on the Board of Directors of Tampa General Hospital; the Environmental Protection Commission (Chairman, 1995-1996); and the Children's Home Society of Florida, State (1985-94) and Gulf Coast Division (1984-1999; President 1989). She is a member of countless groups and committees Leadership Tampa Alumni, the Athena Society, Guardian ad Litem, and the Tiger Bay Club and the recipient of numerous awards for humanitarian efforts. She served as Chair of the 2009 Super Bowl Volunteer Committee (6,500 volunteers) and was the recipient of the 2010 Florida State Senate Spirit of Service Award, the 2011 Ellsworth G. Gary was a Police Officer for the Milwaukee Police Department for 7 years and retired from the Tampa Police Department after 22 years of service. He was born on March 16, 1930 in Banock, KY, to the late Rufus Bunyan Taylor and Ruth Lamastus. Kibby was a 27 year retired Air Force Command Pilot. He was a member of Red River Valley Fighter Pilot Association, B-66 Association, KC-147 Association and Masonic Lodge, Banock, KY. Kibby was the former president of Spinning Wheels Square Dance Club. He is predeceased by his first wife, Vivian "Lu Ann" Taylor; and second wife, Faye Doolin Taylor.
