Tampa Theatre has two weeks of movies and more that are sure to give you the willies.

Throughout its entire haunted history, Tampa Theatre never housed a creature feature collection like this. A Nightmare on Franklin Street is two weeks of daily terror with J-Horror and not letting up until John Carpenter's Halloween.

The series kicks off at 7:30 tonightwith the Japanese hitRingu, which made a VHS tape evil and creepy kids cliche, followed by its English-language remake, The Ring, at 10.

Friday is vampire night, with Interview With the Vampire (7:30 p.m.) and the '80s touchstone The Lost Boys (10 p.m.).

"Space Invader Saturday" brings It Came From Outer Space in 3-D, another flex of the theater's new digital projection system. The glasses go on at 7:30 p.m., followed by Aliens at 10.

Two sessions can be stretched into triple features for $24, including Sunday's Alfred Hitchcock tribute. The lineup is 2012's Hitchcock, a biopic starring Anthony Hopkins, at 3 p.m., The Birds (while a live play version runs at American Stage) at 6:30, and the classic Psycho at 10.

On Oct. 27, ParaNorman, Night of the Living Dead and Dead Alive make a nice zombie marathon.

A separate ticket is required for each screening. Most cost $12 for one movie, or $17.50 for a double feature, for online purchases. A child ticket price ($10) is offered on kid-friendly programs like Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Oct. 21), Casper(Oct. 26) and ParaNorman(Oct. 27).

A personal recommendation: Don't miss the Oct. 30 pairing of Stanley Kubrick's The Shining and the documentary Room 237, which draws interesting conclusions about subliminal messages and conspiracies woven into the film. Fun stuff for Kubrick buffs.

Brace yourself for The Exorcist and Dracula other nights.

Visit for information and tickets. In addition to the movie lineup, A Nightmare on Franklin Street includes full-blown paranormal investigations of the movie palace's haunted past on Oct. 25 and 26. Online tickets are $155, which is also pretty scary.
