East Lake's Artavis Scott is an exquisitely coordinated receiver with good hands who can outrun or outfox defensive backs. Countryside's Michael Johnson tracks down opposing receivers, staying step-for-step with the best of them thanks to his startling athletic skills. As a defensive back, Johnson will be lined up on Scott's side in tonight's East Lake at Countryside game. Both know each other's tendencies. After all, they're cousins. And they're seniors, marking the last time they'll face each other as high school players. Last year their matchup didn't materialize, with both hobbled by ankle injuries. Their battle will be more than an interesting footnote. It could one of the keys in deciding a game between neighboring rivals that is for more than bragging rights. Both teams are tied with Pinellas Park for first place in Class 7A, District 9 with the winner having an inside track toward a playoff berth.
