Justice of the day
Utah basketball coach Larry Krystkowiak has become quite the crime stopper. The 6-foot-9, 220-pound former NBA power forward was headed to work one morning last month when he saw a bicyclist carrying another bike. Krystkowiak, 49, approached him, called campus police and told the man to sit on the sidewalk. And who is his crime-stopping idol? Barney Fife from The Andy Griffith Show. "I just always liked Barney," Krystkowiak said. "Thought he was something special and always managed to step in a little pile of something, it seemed like, whenever he had an opportunity."

"He looks like (Mickey Mouse). ... We were so glad when they called him Mickey Mouse. Now we all do."
Jerry Hairston, on Dodgers teammate Adrian Gonzalez, accused by the Cardinals of "Mickey Mouse" tactics during the National League Championship Series. Gonzalez has taken to mimicking MM's ears after he gets a hit (see above). The Cardinals won't let on if the gesture bothers them. "We're not out there to do anything except win," manager Mike Matheny says.
