River Ridge's rushing attack and stellar defense proved too much for Wesley Chapel in a 42-2 rout.
The Royal Knights' ground attack was led by Ben Perdomo with 132 yards and two touchdowns.
River Ridge (3-4, 2-1) started the game with a 10-play, seven-minute drive that resulted in the first of Perdomo's touchdowns. The defense gave the Knights the ball back three minutes later after a sack by Jordan Harris on fourth down.
River Ridge extended its lead when quarterback Patrick Mathieson connected with Darian Harrington for a 22-yard strike with just more than four minutes left in the first half.
The Wildcats (0-7, 0-3) looked to start the second half well. Eric Bennett took the opening kickoff 97 yards for the score, only to have it negated by a holding call. On their first offensive play after the holding penalty, they fumbled and Harrington recovered. He had two sacks, two fumble recoveries and a receiving touchdown.
River Ridge took advantage of the turnover as it marched 31 yards in three minutes, capped by the second of Perdomo's touchdowns, this one from 18 yards out.
Five minutes into their next drive the Wildcats set themselves up with first and goal from the Knights' 1, only to get stuffed on four consecutive running plays.
Wesley Chapel had four fumbles in the second half and lost three.
