TARDIS TO LAND IN TAMPA FOR DOCTOR WHO FANS

Attention Doctor Who fans. For the 50th anniversary extravaganza set for Nov. 9 in Tampa by lifelong Whovian Ken Spivey, there will be a full-sized TARDIS for your geek-out pleasure. (That would be the blue police box that the humanoid alien called the Doctor uses to travel around time and space.) This party sold out last year, so advance tickets are recommended. There will be the "Science of Doctor Who" from Dr. Geek's Lab, a Live Time Lord Combat, a cosplay costume contest, lots of surprises, plus the Ken Spivey Band playing "Doctor Who-themed Irish drinking music." The British television staple from the '60s was rebooted in 2005 and maintains a cult following. The party will be held at the Mary Help of Christians Center's meeting hallat 6400 E Chelsea St., Tampa. Tickets are $20 in advance; $18 in advance for students; $25 at the door. See timelordfest.com for details.
