Hasbro's house rules debate came after the company received results of a survey showing nearly 70 percent of 1,000 respondents reported never having read all Monopoly rules. THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE says it paid whistle-blowers $53 million last year for turning in tax cheats. In an annual report to Congress, the agency said Friday it paid out 122 awards, for an average award of nearly $435,000. The tips led the IRS to collect more than $367 million in taxes, interest and penalties. The report says the IRS received 9,268 whistle-blower claims last year, up slightly from 2012.

J.C. PENNEY is hoping that some supermodel magic will win over shoppers in the lingerie department. The beleaguered department store chain is launching an exclusive lingerie collection in the U.S. with a partnership with Elle Macpherson, 50. The collection, called the Body by Elle Macpherson and featuring bras and panties in mostly cotton ranging in price from $50 to $150, will be in 300 of Penney's 1,100 stores starting Friday. Penney says it will wait to see how the brand fares before deciding whether to roll it out to its other stores.

MAZDA is recalling 42,000 Mazda6 cars in the U.S. because spiders can weave a web in a vent hose and cause the fuel tank to crack. The recall involves cars from the 2010 through 2012 model years equipped with 2.5-liter engines. The yellow sac spider, which is attracted to hydrocarbons, builds webs that cause pressure to build in the fuel tank. That increases the risk of fuel leaks and fire. Mazda recalled cars in 2011 for the same problem. It put covers on the vent line, but has found spiders can get past them.
