Rays manager Joe Maddon already had an English bulldog named Winston Churchill Maddon. Now he has a first lady for his first lady, surprising wifeJaye on Saturday with a puppy named Clementine Churchill Maddon (left). The brown and white English bulldog was an early birthday present for Jaye, paying her back for throwing him a surprise birthday party in February. Clementine, fittingly, was born on Maddon's birthday (Feb. 8). Quipped Maddon: "Is that dog-ology or astro-ology?"

Hoop dreams

No Ray was more excited about Kentucky's Final Four victory over Wisconsin on Saturday than RHP Josh Lueke, a Covington, Ky. native. "I was yelling," Lueke said. "I woke up everybody; dog was barking; kids were screaming." Lueke, of course, picked the Wildcats to win it all. And if they beat Connecticut tonight, he could overtake manager Joe Maddon in the team's bracket challenge. "I'm pumped," he said.
