Hayden Milanes talks about playing Frankie Valli in 'Jersey Boys,' returning to his hometown of Tampa and more

Hayden Milanes has played Frankie Valli in the national tour of Jersey Boys for three years. On Tuesday night, he returned to where his acting career took off, performing once again in Tampa.

Milanes grew up in Town 'N Country and attended the Howard W. Blake School of the Arts, then worked at Walt Disney World and took a job on a cruise ship. After being told he'd be perfect for the vocally demanding role of Frankie Valli. he moved to New York and auditioned for Jersey Boys. He got the part right away.

"All of that preparation and all of that work with my voice teacher kind of met the opportunity," he said. "You know what they say. Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. And that's exactly what happened."

Jersey Boys continues through Sunday at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa. Tickets are $48-$116. Click here for details.
