"When you have that moment and when you have that chance, don't think that you'll have 10 more opportunities, because you might not have any. When you're there, you have to make it count."

Former Lightning C Vinny Lecavalier said his whole body was in "overheated excitement" when Tampa Bay faced the Canadiens in the 2004 Eastern Conference semifinals.
Of course that series was special for Lecavalier. He is from the Montreal suburb of Ile Bizard. But Lecavalier, now with the Flyers, said you don't have to be from Montreal to feel the excitement of playing in a city that has won 24 Stanley Cups. The Lightning will be there for its first-round matchup.
"Just stepping on the ice in Montreal, the excitement, for me there's nothing like it," Lecavalier said. "Just to go out for the game and how loud the crowd is ... it's nervous excitement. You get the butterflies.
"No matter where you're from, you play against Montreal in the playoffs, there's nothing like it."

Steven Stamkos has a 1-year-old Swiss Mountain Dog that is aptly named Trigger. It's his first dog, who is looked after by Stamkos' girlfriend when he is on the road.
"He's a big baby. He's a softie," the Lightning captain said of Trigger. "He kind of looks big and mean, but he's the biggest baby ever."

- Rookie goaltender Kristers Gudlevskis, 21, of Latvia called living in the United States "pretty simple" because so many goods and services are available. But he added this: "If you're rich, it's pretty good to live here."
- Gudlevskis got his driver's license last week. He said he did not drive in Latvia because when he lived there, he couldn't afford a car. "So there wasn't a point in trying to get a driver's license."
- One thing Gudlevskis really likes about the United States: "There are so many restaurants. You can eat every day in a restaurant."
