LOS ANGELES - Aldon Smith was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday after authorities said the 49ers linebacker became belligerent.
Los Angeles police said he was booked for investigation of making a false bomb threat.
Airport police said Smith, 24, was randomly selected for a screening, became uncooperative and told a TSA agent he had a bomb before walking to the gate. When airport police caught up with him, it said, Smith became uncooperative.
The 49ers said only they are "disappointed."
Liverpool still hot
Host Liverpool kept the lead in the Premier League by beating Manchester City 3-2 for its 10th straight win. Liverpool, whose last title came in 1990, has 77 points; two more than Chelsea (which won 1-0 at Swansea) and seven more than Man City. Liverpool and Chelsea have four games left. Man City has six.
FA Cup:Hull scored three goals in 18 minutes to beat Sheffield United 5-3 in a semi in London. Hull, in its first final in its 110-year history, faces Arsenal on May 17.
Winston lifts FSU
Heisman QB Jameis Winston drew a two-out, bases-loaded walk in a three-run eighth, then got his fifth save of the year as Florida State (27-8, 14-4 ACC) beat Georgia Tech 5-4 to end a three-game skid. ... Plant High grad Peter Alonso and Armwood High grad Zach Powers drove in runs in a four-run eighth that lifted visiting Florida past South Carolina 6-5. UF (23-13, 8-5 SEC) leads the East by a game over South Carolina.
Softball:MacKenzie Audas, a Plant City grad, gave up only an unearned run to lift visiting UCF (30-13, 7-2 American) past USF (30-13, 4-5) 2-1.
Track:Kenya's Wilson Kipsang set a course record (2 hours, 4 minutes, 29 seconds) in winning the London Marathon. Britain's Mo Farah, who won the 5,000 and 10,000 meters at the 2012 Olympics, was eighth in his first marathon.
