CITRUS 30, HERNANDO 13

John Bronson scored on a run and interception return for the Hurricanes.

Citrus quarterback Ryan Grow went 2-for-8 for 50 yards, but the attack came from the ground as the Hurricanes (2-1) compiled 205 rushing yards.

Tyler Kline was 6-for-22 with two touchdowns and two interceptions for the Leopards (0-2). Both touchdowns went to receiver Tyson Garman.

Hernando committed eight penalties for 80 yards. Two key penalties pushed the Hurricanes 15 yards closer to the end zone on drives they capped with touchdowns.

KEY DRIVE: Citrus drove down the field after a few completions from Grow and a couple of big runs by Breon Whaley. Bronson capped the drive with a 17-yard touchdown to open the second quarter - following a 15-yard Hernando - penalty to make it 14-0.

PLAY OF THE GAME: Bronson's 85-yard interception return made it 22-7 in the third quarter.

STAR OF THE GAME: Besides the rushing and interception return touchdowns, Bronson threw and ran for two-point conversions.

STAT OF THE GAME: Citrus ran for 205 yards as a team. Whaley carried most of the load and had 18 carries for 133 yards and a touchdown.
