COUNTRYSIDE 24, CLEARWATER 14

Countryside, trailing 14-3, scored 21 unanswered points in the second half for a district victory that kept the Cougars undefeated.

PLAY OF THE GAME: Countryside adjusted to Clearwater's blitzes. In the second half, Trent Chemelik threw a screen to Givanni Gonzalez and the receiver weaved for a 79-yard touchdown to put the Cougars up 24-14.

STAR OF THE GAME: Dante Satcher was consistent throughout, carrying 16 times for 134 yards and a touchdown.

STAT(S) OF THE GAME: The Cougars offensive line improved its pocket protection in the second half. After Clearwater's pressure caused two sacks, a quarterback fumble, and an interception, Chemelik threw for 153 yards and two touchdowns in the second half, versus 38 yards in the first half.
