In a word, bizarre. Behind a dominant first half from QB Donavan Hale, Largo led 21-0. But Osceola's determined Wing-T offense ground out two second-half marches and came close to creating a one-possession contest with six minutes left to play.
KEY DRIVE(S): After an 8-1/2-minute march to open the second-half ended on a 2-yard TD run from Nick Shytle (72 yards), Osceola was driving again. But on its 30th play of the half QB Ryan Allan fumbled at the Largo 1 and the Packers' Juwan Denson recovered.
PLAY OF THE GAME: Dakari Allen's first-quarter interception put Largo at the Osceola 43 when Hale rolled left looking to pass. No one was open so he traversed sideline to sideline, gliding virtually untouched into the end zone.
STARS OF THE GAME: Hale had 349 yards of offense, all but 29 of Largo's total. Allen caught six passes for 113 yards to go with the pick.
STAT OF THE GAME: Osceola's offensive line gobbled up 16:46 of second-half possession.
FINAL WORDS: "We just came out ready to play. It was the first time we did this year." - Hale on Largo's fast start.
"We'll evaluate and get better, but I really think this will help going into Venice in two weeks." - Packers coach Marcus Paschal.
