Northside Christian came back from 10 points down in the fourth quarter to upset previously unbeaten Cambridge Christian, 26-22. Although they scored the winning touchdown with less than a minute in the game, the Mustangs defense had to stop the Lancers one more time to seal the win. Cambridge Christian got within 35 yards of the end zone, but the Mustangs defense came up big, sacking quarterback Garrett Young three times, including on the final play of the game.
KEY DRIVE: The Lancers were up by four and had the ball at the Mustangs' 43 with about a minute and a half left in the game. Young ran up the middle and fumbled, giving Northside Christian an improbable final chance to win.
PLAY OF THE GAME: As big as the fumble recovery was, it wouldn't have mattered if the Mustangs didn't cash in. And that's just what they did with 59 seconds remaining, as quarterback Griffin Alstott connected with Darius Williams, who made an over-the-shoulder catch for a 37-yard winning score.
STARS OF THE GAME: The Mustangs' Fiante Bell carried 11 times for 52 yards and a score. Teammate Josh Snead had 99 yards on 11 carries and two scores. The Lancers' Young gained 96 yards and scored on 13 carries.
