ALFONSO, Rose F. 93, of Tampa passed away Oct. 4, 2014. She is survived by her husband, Onelio B. Alfonso; daughter, Norma King and husband Jerry; grandchildren, Eric (Joan) and Brian Eldridge; and great-grandchildren, Connor, Aidan, Jasper, and Gemma Eldridge. BEOUGHER, Roger Lee 79, of Clearwater, passed Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born May 15, 1935 in Celina, OH to Russell and Helen (nee Rhyne) Beougher. Survivors are his wife, Roxana Marie (Smitley) Beougher; two brothers, Lowell (Elsie) of Ohio and Keith (Susan) of Ohio; daughter, Gwynn (Chris) Oberly of Michigan; son, Dana (Mindy) Beougher of Clearwater; two granddaughters, Jessica Oberly Simon (John) of New York and Alison Oberly Blanchard (Joe) of Michigan; four great-grandchildren, Ella Roxana, Brady John, Kirk Ryan and Zoe Mckenzie. Roger was a fireman/paramedic/Captain for 22 1/2 years for the city of Van Wert, OH. A memorial service is scheduled at First Lutheran Church Friday, Oct. 10, at 12 noon. CASSADA, Joyce Louise (Phillips) passed away Oct. 2, 2014 at the age of 87 at the Tierra Pines Nursing Home in Largo. She was born in North Carolina, lived in Ohio after getting married, and moved to Florida in 1960 with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, James Walter Cassada; her parents, Marshall James and Lillie Lee Phillips; and brother, James Phillips. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Cassada and daughter, Elaine Jensen; son-in-law, Wayne Jensen; grandsons and their families, Jamie and Christina, Jason and Summer; three great-grandchildren, Jameson, Justice and Ayven; brothers, Albert, and wife Ann, and George, and wife, Edna; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was a wonderful seamstress, loved decorating her home, and helping others. Her greatest love and devotion was to her family. Funeral services will be held Oct. 8, 2014 with visitation at 4 pm and funeral service at 5 pm at R. Lee Williams Funeral Home at 3530 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, 33710 (Disston Plaza Area). A graveside service will be held at the Ridgewood Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin, NC where she will be buried with her husband. LANE, Lorene born in Headland, AL March 6, 1914, died Sept. 30, 2014, was the daughter of Margaret Ann and James Benjamin Quattlebaum. She grew up during the Great Depression and learned the importance of hard work and dedication to family, friends, and community. A friend to many and source of wisdom and inspiration to those she met, she lived a life of respect for others and love for her family. Persevering through the challenges of WWII, she served her country in the Civil Defense Corps. Lorene was predeceased by her loving husband, Joel R. Lane. She leaves behind a daughter, Sylvia Fletcher; a niece, Debbie Wagoner; a nephew, James B. Quattlebaum Jr.; as well as great-nieces, Amber Quattlebaum, Courtney Wagoner, and Natlie Bullen; and great-nephews, Joel R. Quattlebaum and Joshua Quattlebaum. Although her spirit has passed on to walk with the Lord and her loving husband Joel R. Lane, her memory remains forever in the hearts of the family and friends with whom she shared her love and wisdom. Funeral Services were held with entombment at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park.

LUPPENS, Theresa Marie 87, of Tampa, passed away Oct. 4, 2014. Theresa was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Tampa in 1953. She served as the deputy registrar of Hillsborough County until the time of her retirement. She was a charter parishioner of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and a member of the St. Pauls Catholic Church Womens Guild. Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence H. Luppens Sr. and her son, Lawrence H. Luppens Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Marie Aucoin; sons, Chris Luppens Sr. and Ronald C. Luppens (Melanie); ten grandchildren, Tina and Billy Aucoin, Chris, Adam, Sheryl, and Greg Luppens, Meredith Wall, Yvonne Giammarinaro, Monica Jackson, and Khrissy Goetz; 21 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great- grandchildren. A Funeral Mass for the repose of her soul will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday, Oct. 8, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Msgr. Laurence Higgins, Celebrant. Interment will be held at 12:45 pm at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 6-8 pm at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. SCANLAND, James L. 91, of Spring Hill, passed Oct. 3, 2014 at HPH Hospice Care Center. He was born July 26, 1923. He is a US Navy Veteran. He was Lutheran by faith. James was affiliated with the Florida Wildlife Federation and owned and operated Scanlands Inc. Printers in Tampa. He was a member of the Lions Club. He was also an avid outdoorsman and conservationist. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean E. Scanland; sons, Richard D. and Douglas W. Scanland; and grandson, John D. (Jody) Scanland. He is survived by his son, James (Kit) Scanland of Crystal River; daughter, Katherine L. Scanland of Spring Hill; daughters-in- law, Pam and Mary Jackie Scanland; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. SCHMIDT, William K. Jr. Bill 80, of Spring Hill passed away Oct. 4, 2014 at Bayfront Health Spring Hill Hospital. He was born in Detroit, MI. He was Catholic by faith and a US Army Veteran. He retired after 27 years from the Detroit Police Dept. and moved to Florida in 1983 and worked at the Crystal River Power Plant for 17 years as a Security Shift Captain. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Nancy of Spring Hill; 2 children, Michelle Cooper of Ocala, FL and William Schmidt and his wife, Jacqueline of Clinton Township, MI; sister, Beverly McPhee and her husband, Mike of Winter Haven; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jacob, and Sarah; 2 great-grandchildren, Alexis Lexie and Rylan. SEWARD, Ann of Riverview, passed away Friday, Oct. 3, 2014 at home with her family and beloved cats by her side. A resident of Florida for the last twenty years after moving from Northport, NY, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alexander Seward in 2005. Cherishing her life and beautiful memories are Ann and Alexanders children, Alison Andersen, Jeananne Seward, and Sarah Lamont all of Florida, Todd Seward (Pam) of Colorado, Susan Gilliams of Washington, and Paul Seward (Mary) of Texas; brother, Robert Sadler (Jeanette) from New Mexico; Alexanders brother, Edward Seward (Sonia) of Florida; adoring grandchildren, and many friends near and far. Her feisty personality that was evident even throughout her valiant battle with cancer, and her warm smile will be missed by all. A memorial service will be conducted 6 pm Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Southern Funeral Care with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. WEIGAND, Robert Joseph 96, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at Suncoast Hospice Care Center Mid-Pinellas, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Buffalo, NY, he came here in 1980 from Washington, D.C. He graduated from George Washington University. He was a WWII veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Moyer Weigand. He is survived by his children, Robert A. (Deborah) Weigand, Guy Andrew Weigand, Teresa L. Weigand, and Claire Moyer Weigand; grandchildren, April Orlofsky and Michelle Toelle; great-grandchildren Maggie, Fritz, and Chloe; and many nieces and nephews. He worked for the Federal Government, ending his career as a Systems Analyst at the FAA. He was active in his retirement, volunteering at his childrens school, the American Legion, Meals on Wheels, and as treasurer of his condo association. He was a talented wood worker with a special interest in marquetry. In his later years, he made many new friends, particularly those at the Park Street Diner. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, husband, father, and grandfather. Robert wanted to be remembered as a good man, and he will be by all who loved him. There will be a viewing from 5-7 pm Sunday, Oct. 5, at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes - Tyrone. A service will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 7851 54th Ave. N, St. Petersburg Monday, Oct. 6, at 1 pm. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers in his name to Suncoast Hospice.
