Freefall Theatre swept the Fourth Annual Theatre Tampa Bay Awards, doled out to the top talents in the local theater scene at a ceremony Monday in St. Petersburg. Freefall's The Burnt Part Boys (pictured) took home seven awards including Outstanding Production, Musical and Outstanding Ensemble, Musical. Freefall's productions of The Normal Heart and The Mikado took home three awards each, including Outstanding Lead Actor for The Mikado's Matthew McGee. Ami Sallee won Outstanding Director, Play for Gorilla Theatre's one-person show, An Iliad. Cassandra Small won Outstanding Lead Actress, Play for her role in Stageworks Theatre's A Raisin in the Sun. Michael Nichols won Outstanding Actor, Play for playing the Chief in Freefall's long-running season closer, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Theatre Tampa Bay is an alliance of professional artists with more than 200 members and 19 theaters.
