The huge CraftArt Festival kicks off holiday shopping season, and there’s a free movie in the park.

1. CraftArt Festival: Now in its 22nd year, this huge two-day festival will shut down a few blocks of Central Avenue when more than 100 fine craft artists display their wares to kick off the holiday shopping season. There will be artist demonstrations, food trucks, craft beer and a children’s art activity tent. Don’t miss the holiday boutique inside Florida CraftArt Gallery, where you can find artist-made ornaments. Free. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. 501 Central Ave., St. Petersburg. floridacraftart.org.

2. MFA Open House: The Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg is decking the halls and giving the community a gift of free admission for its annual open house and tree lighting. Miami-based sculptor Brookhart Jonquil will create original artwork for the museum’s holiday celebration. Custom tree ornaments will be for sale, and there will be live music, hot chocolate and holiday cookies. 6-8 p.m. Thursday. 255 Beach Drive NE. (727) 896-2667. mfastpete.org.

3. ParkCINEMA: The series of free, outdoor movies in parks around Tampa brings a holiday edition with a free showing of the 2018 animated version of The Grinch. The family-friendly series from Tampa Theatre, in partnership with the F.E. Lykes Foundation, marks an expansion of the theater’s initiative to bring outdoor films to more locations throughout the year. Next will be A Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) on Nov. 30. 4. One Day Tampa Bay: A reception at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts marks the last weekend of this exhibition for the community project in which photographers captured images from around Tampa Bay on the same day. The project was made in collaboration with the Morean Arts Center and the Dunedin Fine Art Center and meant to document the lives and light of St. Petersburg, Tampa, Clearwater and all the towns in between. The museum is open to the public for Gallery Walk night. Free. 5-7 p.m. Friday. 400 N Ashley Drive, Tampa. fmopa.org.
