Thirsty for a head start on the Tampa Bay Times Festival of Reading? Times book editor Colette Bancroft will host a book club discussion of Kristin Harmel’s The Winemaker’s Wife. It’s a sweeping novel of romance and betrayal set in the Champagne region of France during World War II. Harmel, who will be a featured author at the festival, has written several other bestselling historical novels, grew up in St. Petersburg and is a former Times staffer.

The club will meet at 2 p.m. Nov. 3 at Pete’s General, 495 Seventh Ave. N, St. Petersburg. There will be snacks and drink specials. Because space is limited, an RSVP is required. To reserve, email to cbancroft@tampabay.com. Book club members will also have reserved seats at Harmel’s appearance at the festival on Nov. 9.
