From Dunkaroos to Moon Pies, nostalgia is the main ingredient at this bakery popup

The lineup at Pinellas Park’s Wandering Whisk Bakeshop this weekend is inspired by 1990s treats.

Dunkaroos, Cosmic Brownies, Hostess cupcakes, Sno Balls, Moon Pies, Cheetos macarons, Cinnamon Toast Crunch cake cups.

Nostalgia is the main ingredient at Jennifer Jacobs’ latest popup, taking place this weekend at her Pinellas Park bakery Wandering Whisk Bakeshop.

The bakery, which mainly fulfills custom orders and is only open to the public during popups, is stocking its case with re-creations of classic treats from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 7 (or until they sell out).

Jacobs and crew will sell a lineup of macarons, cake cups, cupcakes and other confections. Each flavor has been created specifically for this day, and inspired heavily by the ’90s foods of Jacobs’ youth.

“We’ll be re-creating all of your nostalgic childhood desserts,” she said. “I’ve been doing lots of recipe testing to perfect the flavors ... I just made the Cosmic Brownies and I bit into one and was instantly transported back to lunchtime in elementary school."
