Motorworks Brewing in Bradenton is putting shelter dogs on beer cans

The beer, available for purchase in packs of four and cases of 24, will be available until they sell out, the brewery says.

Love dogs and beer? Motorworks Brewing has the drink for you.

The Bradenton brewery is highlighting dogs in need of adoption by placing their pictures on cans of beer. The plan is to increase adoptions at Shelter Manatee while also donating a percentage of the beer’s proceeds to the shelter.

All of the pups on display were at the shelter and available for adoption at the time they were printed on cans, the brewery said. It can’t, however, guarantee each dog will still be available for adoption by the time you crack open your can of Kölsch featuring the dogs.

The cans will be available to purchase in four-packs or in a case of 24 at the brewery — at 1014 9th St. W. in Bradenton — or here, on Motorworks Brewing’s website.

Along with each photo will be a story about each dog, along with information on plans for building a new shelter.

“We are excited to release an exclusive ADOPTABLE DOG Cruiser Kölsch 4-PACK,” the brewery wrote on Facebook. “Proceeds go to Shelter Manatee to help build the new shelter for our less fortunate four-legged friends.”

The cans were first displayed along with silent auctions, drink specials and food trucks at an event last Sunday. The beer will be available until it sells out.
