Emmy-winning Entourage star Jeremy Piven is coming to Tampa to host a poolside pre-Halloween party Oct. 26 at WTR Pool and Grill.

The party, dubbed “Leather and Laces,” will feature a $10,000 costume contest, a guest DJ and more. It takes place at the club in the Godfrey Hotel, 7700 W Courtney Campbell Causeway. Tickets are $39 and up. Click here for details.

Piven won three Emmys and a Golden Globe for his portrayal of superagent Ari Gold on Entourage and its movie spinoff. But perhaps it’s not surprising he’s now hosting Halloween contests instead of appearing in films like Old School and Serendipity.

Last year, Variety reported that Piven was the subject of multiple sexual misconduct allegations dating back to the 1980s. Piven strongly maintained his innocence, but his CBS show Wisdom of the Crowd was canceled, and his screen career seemed to stall (although he does have a couple of film roles in the offing, including the Jamie Foxx sports comedy All-Star Weekend).

Instead, Piven has pivoted to standup comedy, touring clubs in a manner he has described as similar to his early sketch comedy days as a young actor in Chicago. In June, he performed at the Improv in Ybor City.

An announcement about the party from promoters Pied Piper Productions — long known for their over-the-top, high-dollar Halloween costume contests in Tampa — doesn’t say whether Piven will actually be appearing in costume as Ari Gold, but that wouldn’t be a bad idea. If nothing else, all this standup experience might make him a pretty good party emcee.
