The Mandalorian, Disney+: This week brings the highly anticipated debut of Disney’s new streaming service. In addition to a vast library of films and TV series, it’s serving up plenty of original fare. Among the shiniest new offerings is this live-action drama series that takes place in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. (Somewhere between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.) It follows the travails of a lone gunfighter (Pedro Pascal) in the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic. The cast also includes Gina Carano, Carl Weathers Werner Herzog and Nick Nolte.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Disney+: Here’s a confusing title for a show. Tapping into the popular franchise, this song-filled meta saga follows a group of students at the real-life East High as the prepare for the school’s first-ever production of High School Musical.

SEASON PREMIERE Chopped Junior, 8 p.m., Food Network: Turkey meatballs, anyone? That’s the Thanksgiving-themed challenge awaiting the young competitors as another season gets underway.
