Live events and open attractions for June 8-14

Steadily, we’re getting more to do in our area.

In addition to live events this week, we have updates on local attractions that have reopened. If you venture out, we recommend following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, like washing your hands often and wearing a mask. June ArtWalk: St. Pete ArtWorks will open for ArtWalk, with music by jazz flutist Bruce Daniels outside on the sidewalk. The trolley is not expected to run. Free (tips for musician encouraged). 5-7 p.m. Saturday. St. Pete ArtWorks, 2412 Central Ave. (727) 738-8010.

Kate Tiedemann and Ellen Cotton Cabaret Theatre Concerts: The new music series set in a socially distanced cabaret-style theater in Ruth Eckerd Hall’s lobby kicks off with Greg Billings and McLean Mannix. Daredevil Rally Drive-In Thrill Show: Nik Wallenda presents a drive-in stunt show. Attraction reopenings

Glazer Children’s Museum: The museum reopened June 6 at 25 percent capacity with reserved, timed tickets required. Exhibits have been modified to promote social distancing and discourage touching. John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art: The Ringling Museum and Selby Botanical Gardens both reopened May 27. Best practices include increased sanitizing, limited occupancy, no tours, no-contact ticketing and social distancing. Regular admission required. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. 5401 Bay Shore Road, Sarasota. Tampa Museum of Art: Tampa Museum of Art celebrated its 100th anniversary when it reopened June 1. Masks, social distancing and advance ticket purchase are encouraged. Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa: Gaming resumed on May 21. Temperature checks and face coverings are required. Plexiglass barriers divide players at gaming tables. No cover. Open 24 hours daily. 5223 Orient Road, Tampa. (813) 627-7625.

Dinosaur World: Dinosaur World reopened the dino walk and indoor museum May 7. Hands-on activities remain closed. Hand washing and social distancing are encouraged. Regular admission required. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. 5145 Harvey Tew Road, Plant City. (813) 717-9865.

Florida Aquarium: The Florida Aquarium reopened to the public May 11 with limited capacity and timed admissions required. Ages 3 and older must wear a mask. The Splash Pad is closed. Regular admission required. 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. 701 Channelside Drive, Tampa. (813) 273-4000.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium: Clearwater Marine Aquarium reopened May 15 at 25 percent capacity. Safety measures include touchless transactions, social distancing signs and timed tickets, and masks are recommended. Morean Arts Center: The Morean Arts Center and all associated facilities reopened May 22. Centers are touchless environments and follow all CDC guidelines. Sparkman Wharf: The shopping and dining district reopened May 19. Live entertainment available most weekends. iFLY Indoor Skydiving: The indoor skydiving center reopened June 3. Wind tunnels use recirculated air from outside. All equipment is sanitized between flights. Universal Orlando: Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay reopened June 5. Face coverings and temperature checks are required. SeaWorld Orlando: SeaWorld Orlando reopens Thursday. Temperature checks are required at the gate and guests ages 2 and older must wear a mask. Spacing has been increased at touchless turnstiles. Busch Gardens: Busch Gardens reopens Thursday. Temperature checks are required at the gate and guests ages 2 and older must wear a mask. Adventure Island: Adventure Island reopens for the remainder of the season starting Thursday. Masks are prohibited in water areas but required at the entrance and in retail/food sales areas. Aquatica: Aquatica reopens Thursday. Masks are prohibited in the water but required in all other areas. Other rules include safe social distancing, hand sanitizing and temperature screenings when entering the property.
