CITY: FASHION, ART, CULTURE

Tampa Museum of Art is the place to be this weekend. “Ordinary /Extraordinary: Assemblage in Three Acts” features two works by Jean-Michel Basquiat. That’s exciting for art lovers. And for fans of fashion, the City event features the work of Venezuelan designer Angel Sanchez. He has designed wedding gowns for Sandra Bullock and Eva Longoria. Meryl Streep and Taylor Swift have also worn his designs. He was an architect by trade who grew up surrounded by fashion in his mother’s atelier. His designs reflect his architectural background. The fundraiser will showcase his works in a runway show and guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, desserts and dancing. Proceeds benefit the museum’s exhibition and education programs. $150, $275 VIP, includes cocktail hour and runway seating. 8 p.m. Saturday. 120 Gasparilla Plaza. (813) 421-8374. tampamuseum.org.
