Tampa Museum of Art is the place to be this weekend. “Ordinary /Extraordinary: Assemblage in Three Acts” features two works by Jean-Michel Basquiat. That’s exciting for art lovers. And for fans of fashion, the City event features the work of Venezuelan designer Angel Sanchez. He has designed wedding gowns for Sandra Bullock and Eva Longoria. Meryl Streep and Taylor Swift have also worn his designs. He was an architect by trade who grew up surrounded by fashion in his mother’s atelier. His designs reflect his architectural background. The fundraiser will showcase his works in a runway show and guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, desserts and dancing. Proceeds benefit the museum’s exhibition and education programs. $150, $275 VIP, includes cocktail hour and runway seating. 8 p.m. Saturday. 120 Gasparilla Plaza. (813) 421-8374.

Many Tampa Bay residents recognize St. Petersburg’s Nova 535 as a go-to event venue. Owner Michael Scott Novilla makes parties his business and has traveled the globe to find the world’s best. He has compiled all of that information into a book, It’s 5 a.m. Go Home: Weddings, Parties and Events So Good Your Guests Won’t Leave, available now on Amazon. It’s an anecdotal, behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to throw events and a guide on how to make yours legendary.

Fashion knows no bounds, even between species. Since fashion weeks happen worldwide in September, Pet Supermarket decided to get in on the action. At all locations, people are encouraged to dress their pets in their finest duds and trot down the runway for a chance to win a Pet Pamper Prize Pack full of products and treats. Dog fashions are half-off all weekend. On Sunday, buy a fashion item and get entered to win a $10 store voucher. Customers are also encouraged to use the hashtag #petsuperstylin for a chance to be featured on Pet Supermarket’s social media channels. The free runway show and pet parade is from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at various locations.
