It’ll be a blue Christmas in Clearwater without an annual visit from the Brian Setzer Orchestra.
Setzer has pulled the plug on his annual blockbuster “Christmas Rocks!” tour due to a severe case of tinnitus. That includes a Nov. 30 show at Ruth Eckerd Hall. Tickets already purchased will be automatically refunded.
“It’s heartbreaking to disappoint my fans who have shared my Christmas seasons with me for over fifteen years," Setzer said in a statement. “I’m truly sorry for the inconvenience this has caused all of the amazing people who make my tour happen and to my unbelievably loyal and devoted fans. I hate to let you down and I hope you’ll understand.”
Setzer, 60, first brought his glittery big-band yuletide show to Ruth Eckerd Hall in 2017, when he swung through an array of holiday tunes as well as hits like Jump, Jive an’ Wail and the Stray Cats’ Stray Cat Strut. We’ll have to catch him again in 2020.
