Ozzy Osbourne and Marilyn Manson, together on stage in Tampa. What could possibly go wrong?

Manson, a onetime Florida man turned shock-rock icon, will be the opening act on Ozzy Osbourne’s forthcoming North American tour, which includes a stop at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre on May 31.

Osbourne, you might recall, is part of a growing community of boomer music icons — Elton John and Jimmy Buffett among them — who have postponed Tampa Bay shows by a full year due to illness or injury. The Prince of Effin’ Darkness was supposed to play the amphitheater on June 2, but postponed that and many other shows due to complications from a bout with pneumonia.

Originally, Megadeth was supposed to open that show, but now Osbourne has found someone a bit younger and freakier. And it helps that they go back a ways.

“I’ve toured with Ozzy many times and it’s always been f---ing spectacular,” Manson said in a news release. “I’m honored to do it again. This is one not to miss.”

Tickets to Ozzy and Marilyn’s May 31 show start at $29.50 and are on sale now. Click here for details.
