The late ’90s are going on tour. So are the late ’70s and early ’80s.
The MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre on Monday announced two big radio-rock package tours that should appeal to a couple of different generational demographics.
The first: late-'90s pop-rock stalwarts Matchbox Twenty, with opening act Jakob Dylan and the Wallflowers. That show is coming to Tampa on Aug. 7, with tickets going on sale Friday. Click here for details.
Fun thing about that concert: Matchbox Twenty is offering instant CDs and digital downloads of each show on their summer tour, so if you saw them as young pups coming up in Florida 25 years ago, and want to relive the magic of their return later this year, you’re welcome to do so. A month later, ’70s classic rock staples Foreigner will return to Tampa on Sept. 5, bringing along a couple of geographically oriented openers, Kansas and Europe. That’s Juke Box Hero, Dust in the Wind and The Final Countdown, all in one night. Click here for tour details.
Tickets to the Foreigner show also go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday via Live Nation. So if you and your uncle want to see a couple of concerts together this summer, go ahead and pick up tickets to both shows at once.
