It’s been six long years since Sam Hunt released his stellar debut album Montevallo, an eternity by country standards.

New music is finally coming. And he’s planning to bring it to Tampa.

Hunt has announced a 2020 tour that will hit Tampa’s MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre on June 12, alongside openers Kip Moore, Travis Denning and Ernest. Tickets go on sale Feb. 14. Click here for details.

Hunt on Thursday also announced that his long-awaited sophomore album, Southside, will be released on April 3. While it’s not clear yet if it’ll include post-Montevallo hits Body Like a Back Road and Downtown’s Dead, it should include more recent singles Kinfolks and Sinning With You.

But even with only two albums and a handful of singles under his belt, Hunt should be able to put together a pretty robust show. The simmering country-pop-R&B collection Montevallo featured five Top 5 country singles, including House Party, Leave the Night On and Take Your Time, plus a song Keith Urban made famous in Cop Car, one of our favorite songs of the last decade.
