Santana, Earth, Wind and Fire teaming up for summer tour stop in Tampa

From ‘Smooth’ to ‘September,’ it’ll be a hot one at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre.
Carlos Santana will perform with Earth, Wind and Fire at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa on Aug. 29.

Santana, Earth, Wind and Fire. Earth, Wind, Fire and Santana. Wind, Fire, Santana and Earth.

Mix ’em up however you like. However the word jumble plays out, it all seems to go great together.

Guitar god Carlos Santana and funk-pop legends Earth, Wind and Fire are teaming up for a summer tour that’ll make its final stop at Tampa’s MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre on Aug. 29. Tickets to the “Miraculous Supernatural Tour,” as it’s called, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Click here for details.

If you’ve somehow gone the last 50 years without learning at least a few Santana and Earth, Wind and Fire songs by heart, it would indeed be a miracle, albeit an unfortunate one. From Black Magic Woman to Oye Como Va, Santana was already a huge star before Supernatural and Smooth, his Grammy-winning collaboration with Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas, catapulted him into a new pop stratosphere in the late ’90s.

And good luck planning a wedding without mixing in a little Earth, Wind and Fire. Whether your jam is September or Shining Star, Let’s Groove or Boogie Wonderland, the group has what you need to fill up a dance floor. If they can persuade Carlos to come out and join them for a song or two, even better.
