You can’t tell the story of wrestling in Tampa without mentioning one of the city’s most iconic sons, Hulk Hogan. So it’s fitting that Hogan’s imprint will be all over WrestleMania weekend in Tampa.

On April 2, Hogan will enter the WWE Hall of Fame for the second time as a member of the New World Order. And on April 6 — the day after WrestleMania at Raymond James Stadium — Hogan will host a pool party with Lil Jon at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

The event is billed as Hogan’s Beach Party, a nod to his defunct bayside bar and restaurant off the Courtney Campbell Causeway. Hogan’s Beach was, for a hot minute, a big destination for DJs like Skrillex, DJ Snake, the Chainsmokers and — WHAT? — Lil Jon himself. Hogan has twice popped up on stage at the Sunset Music Festival, appearing alongside his friend Cedric Gervais.

“I used to work out to AC/DC and hardcore rock 'n’ roll. Now I work out to dubstep and trap music,” Hogan told the Times in 2014. “I just got hooked on this electronic music.”

The pool party will also feature Hogan’s son Nick, a DJ himself, and unnamed wrestling superstars. (There will, of course, be plenty in town.) Tickets are $30 and up and go on sale at 9 a.m. Friday. Click here for details.

As for Hogan’s role in WrestleMania itself? That’s being kept under wraps for the time being. But expect him to be part of the action in some way.

“He is going to be very much involved,” Stephanie McMahon, chief brand officer of the WWE, said during a visit to Tampa last week. “Definitely, you can say that.”
