This summer, I've excitedly left my suburban Illinois hometown and Boston behind to work for Florida's best newspaper. I love digging into the lives of Tampa Bay residents, finding the stories that make this place unique, and soaking in as much sun as possible. I'm months away from finishing my journalism degree at Emerson College after a string of positions at The Boston Globe, BostInno, and The Berkeley Beacon. When I'm not writing or reading, you can find me watching Bollywood movies or making chili.

  2. Beach goers along Clearwater Beach in March. In the following months, both Hillsborough and Pinellas County have seen tourism rebound to its pre-pandemic state.
  3. The Tampa skyline in 2019.
  4. Twelve kitchen workers and a manager at Matoi Sushi were paid wages that sometimes came out to less than $6 per hour, well below the federal minimum wage of $7.25.
