Managing Editor of The Military Times

Howard Altman covered the military and national security for the Tampa Bay Times until April 2019. He has won more than 50 journalism awards and his work has appeared in the New York Times, Daily Beast, Philadelphia magazine, the Philadelphia Inquirer, New York Observer, Newsday and many other publications around the world. He is currently the managing editor of The Military Times.

  5. Thomas E. Penick Jr., worked to protect the area’s most vulnerable residents in his more than 25 years as a Pinellas-Pasco judge. He also was a retired Air Force general. He died last month at the age of 80.
