I have worked as a Times copy editor and designer since June 2018 after 5 years in tbt* and 10 on the regional, metro and A desks before that. I joined the Times in June 2003, arriving by way of Hyderabad, India; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Mississauga, Canada; and Logan, Utah. This is the longest I have worked anywhere; the previous best was 9 years in Dubai. My wife, Nausheen, joined the Times' marketing department as a graphic designer in 2004, making us a Times family. We're empty nesters. I grow tropical fruit trees, such as 10 dwarf mango trees, 3 avocado trees, and more scheffleras, ti plants, hibiscuses, jasmines and caladiums than you want to count. I'm also a non-fanatical vegan, with the occasional lapse for good measure.
