Good heavens, we really don't need any more Charlie's Angels. But alas, Hollywood isn't going to quit the remake business anytime soon, so here we go again. Movieweb.com reports that another big-screen reboot of the iconic TV series is on the way.
Naomi Scott, Kristen Stewart and Lupita Nyong'o are reportedly the new "angels" this time around. Pitch Perfect 2 director Elizabeth Banks will direct this effort as well as star as "Bos."
The missing piece, of course, is the voice of Charlie, which was expertly provided by actor John Forsythe in the original TV series and in the early 2000s movie reboots. Forsythe passed away in 2010.
The TV show, which lasted five seasons from 1976 to 1981, followed three female crime-fighters who worked for a private detective agency in L.A. Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith played the "angels" in the series, which was produced by Aaron Spelling.
The latest big-screen reboot is scheduled for a summer 2019 release.
