Grimes back, but Gholston, Ayers, Dotson, D. Smith sidelined

Cornerback Brent Grimes is back practicing on Wednesday, but both starting offensive tackles and both starting defensive ends were held out of practice with injuries.

The good news? Bucs CB Brent Grimes was back at practice Wednesday after missing two games with a muscular injury in his shoulder and back.

The bad news? Both starting offensive tackles and both starting defensive ends were sidelined as the Bucs prepare to try to end a five-game losing streak on Sunday against the Jets.

Will Gholston was expected to be not practicing, after he left Sunday's game strapped to a stretcher and carted off with a neck injury. Ayers has been limited in practice by different injuries, most recently an ankle, but has played in every game this season.

On the offensive line, left tackle Donovan Smith missed the second half of Sunday's game with a knee injury, and left guard Kevin Pamphile would be in a position to slide over and step in at left tackle, with Evan Smith taking his spot at left guard. But right tackle Demar Dotson was also out Wednesday, which would mean second-year pro Caleb Benenoch likely stepping in at right tackle if he couldn't go.
