Tampa Bay-Washington halftime: Bucs have more yards, but trail 6-3

TAMPA — The Bucs have dominated Washington statistically but enter the locker room at halftime trailing, 6-3.

The Buccaneers have outgained Washington 279-136, have more first downs by a 16-6 margin, and have dominated time of possession, 19:53 to 10:07.

They've been in the red zone three times in the first half but have just three points to show for it.

Bucs quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is 0-for-4 with an interception in the red zone in the first half.

Fitzpatrick ended the Bucs/ first offensive drive with an interception in the end zone, under-throwing rookie Shaun Wilson on a pass picked off by Washington cornerback Josh Norman.

The Bucs drove to the Washington 12-yard line in the second quarter, driving going 62 yards before kicker Chandler Catanzaro missed a 30-yard field-goal attempt wide right.

Catanzaro has missed four extra-points this season but was 9-for-9 on field goals inside 40 yards before the miss.

Catanzaro then converted a 33-yard field goal attempt on the next drive, tying the game just before the two-minute warning.

But Washington drove down the field 50 yards on 11 plays in 1:43, ending with a 43-yard field goal by Dustin Hopkins.
