EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Bucs tight end O.J. Howard left Sunday's 38-35 loss to the New York Giants with an ankle injury and didn't return.

Howard, who was second on the Bucs with 78 receiving yards on six receptions, was injured on the Bucs' final touchdown drive of the day.

He caught a 24-yard pass from Jameis Winston over the middle and was brought down from behind by Giants linebacker Tae Davis, whose weight came down on Howard's right leg.

Howard injured his knee — suffering an MCL sprain in September that forced him from the Bucs' loss from Chicago — but used the team's off week to get better and played two weeks later in Atlanta.

Howard is expected to be re-evaluated on Monday.
