The Florida Gators got their biggest recruiting coup of the day just before noon, when four-star quarterback Emory Jones announced he would sign with UF.
Jones, had been committed to Ohio State, but the 6-foot-2, 195-pound prospect received late pushes from the new coaching staffs at Florida and Florida State.
The Georgia native is the No. 40 recruit in the country and the No. 4 dual-threat quarterback, according to 247Sports' composite rankings. Given UF's lack of depth at the position – redshirt freshman Feleipe Franks is the only option with playing time – he could contend for the starting job quickly.
We'll hear more from UF and coach Dan Mullen about the move at his 3 p.m. news conference.
