Former USF lineman and Miami interim coach Larry Scott is joining the Florida Gators' coaching staff.

Scott will coach tight ends after the recent departure of Ja'Juan Seider, who is joining Penn State.

Scott was a member of the Bulls' inaugural team. The Sebring native later served as a high school assistant at Wharton and Freedom.

He returned to USF from 2005-12 before heading to the Hurricanes. Scott guided Miami to a 4-2 record as interim coach after Al Golden was fired in 2015.

He spent the past two seasons at Tennessee, where he was the special teams coordinator in 2016 and the offensive coordinator in 2017. He coached tight ends both seasons there.
