ST. PETERSBURG — A student was arrested Thursday for threatening to attack his school, according to St. Petersburg police, one in a series of incidents officials have had to deal with since the deadly Parkland school shooting.
This latest incident took place at 1:45 p.m. at Lakewood High School, police said.
The 16-year-old student told a teacher and students that he was "planning a school shooting," according to police.
He was arrested on a felony charge of making a false report concerning the use of a firearm in a violent manner.
His name is being withheld by the Tampa Bay Times because of his age.
