SURPRISE! Teachers at Pasco County's Trinity Elementary School receive $100 each from business partner Millian-Aire to use in support of their classrooms. "We wanted to come up with a way to help teachers in our community because you are important to us and the children you are teaching," the owners wrote in an accompanying letter.

AMENDMENT 8: The state files briefs in its appeal of a lower court decision to remove the education-related measure from the November ballot. The Florida Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on Sept. 5. (FYI, another Leon County judge threw another amendment proposal off the ballot on Monday.)
