On a day when the Lightning bolstered its blueline, it had a scare with leading scorer Nikita Kucherov leaving Monday's game with an upper-body injury.

Kucherov, who played just six shifts in the first, did not return.

But the good news is Kucherov is expected to be okay, and could play in the next game Wednesday. It is not a concussion, nor is it hand related and nothing is broken, agent Dan Milstein told the Times.

There wasn't a noticeable play in the first period where Kucherov suffered his injury. He came out to the bench before the start of the second, but then headed back to the dressing room.

Kucherov leads the Lightning with 33 goals and 82 points. He was riding a nine-game points streak entering Tuesday's game against Toronto.

The Lightning is off Tuesday before starting a back to back Wednesday at home, Thursday on the road in Dallas.
