I guess the lesson here is never believe a hockey player when he says what happens in a scrum at the end of a playoff game doesn't carry over into the next game. It sure looks like the Lightning and Devils won't be vacationing together this summer.

The first line came to life, and that is a good sign for the Lightning. J.T. Miller and Nikita Kucherov had first-period goals with Kucherov and Steven Stamkos assisting on Miller's goal, and Miller assisting on Kucherov's goal. The Lightning could use more of those three on the score sheet.

One day after it was announced he is a finalist for the Vezina Trophy as the league's top goalie, Andrei Vasilevskiy showed why he is among the elite. He was tested early by the Devils, and he didn't flinch. He was steady during those moments the Devils crashed the net.
