Florida State, which is trying to save its bowl hopes with a late rally, beat up on Florida on Saturday at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, 38-22, and made history in the process. It marks the first time in Seminoles football history that they've beaten the Gators five consecutive seasons.

So, naturally, Jimbo Fisher was asked about his status.

Is he staying at Florida State?

USA Today has reported that Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin is going to be first and that Fisher, 83-23 in eight seasons in Tallahassee, would be A&M's No. 1 target in a coaching search. The world we live in.

Was this Fisher's final last Florida-Florida State game?

"No," Fisher said. "Don't start that. I ain't talking about jobs. You know how I go about things."

He added, "And you are all doing your jobs, trying to get the hits. Just let everything play out, guys. But you've got to do your job. That's part of everything. I wouldn't want your job.

"Honestly, I don't listen to it. I swear to God I don't. I don't deal with social media. People will tell me something. … I don't deal with a lot of stuff unless it impacts the team."

Florida is in mid-coaching search. UCLA just hired Chip Kelly. Nebraska just fired Mike Riley. Maybe UCF's Scott Frost is headed to Lincoln. More to come.

Fisher went to town on that:

"Programs are changing. That's part of our world now. You all create it. You guys create it with the articles and the things you do and the criticism of the kids and players and the coaches and all that. This guy should go, that guy should go and we should make this change. Ain't none of you all ever coached. Ain't none of you all ever been. You've got no knowledge of anything. You guys create it.

"You get your hits for your website and all your stuff. … You all create it for yourselves. All your expert opinion. Isn't that right. I'm interviewing you now. No answers? You're all the experts. Am I right? Why do you all get mad when I'm asking you questions. You don't like being grilled? I'm going to write an article on you guys."

How does he deal with all the swirling rumors?

"I don't," Fisher said. "I just deal with the facts."
