What to watch this week: ‘Knightfall’ on History, ‘Psych the Movie,’ ‘The Great Holiday Baking Show’

Your week on TV includes a historical drama about the Knights Templar, a love letter to fans of Psych and a cutthroat holiday baking competition.

Elf, 6:40 p.m., Freeform: In this modern Christmas classic, Will Ferrell is a regular-sized human who was raised by Santa and his elves before heading back to his birthplace to find his biological father.

The Great Christmas Light Fight, 8 p.m., ABC: Season five continues with the Waters family's wireless light show in Texas, the Tomasello family's life-sized gingerbread house in New  York and more.

Floribama Shore, 10 p.m., MTV

"Instead of cheesy nicknames and "gym, tan, laundry," Floribama Shore has beach, barbecue and booze with a hefty scoop of outdated Southern stereotypes. You get all this and more at the house in Panama City Beach, home to the "hottest clubs this side of the Mason Dixon" line, according to one cast member."

Rick Steves' European Christmas, 8 p.m., PBS: A look at how the holidays are celebrated in Paris; Oslo; Bath, England and Burgundy, France and highlights of traditions in German cities Nurnberg, Salzburg and Obendorf.

The Polar Express, 8:55 p.m., Freeform: An 8-year-old boy who starts to doubt the spirit of Christmas and the belief in Santa Claus is whisked away to the North Pole on a magical train to meet the man himself.

Superstore, 9:30 p.m., NBC: The Christmas episode of this comedy sees Amy trying to prove how "wild" she can be by turning a boring Christmas Eve at Cloud 9 into an adventure.


Minions, 8 p.m., FX: In the prequel to Despicable Me, the small yellow minions venture away from their home to find a new evil genius to serve.

SERIES PREMIERE: Knightfall, 10 p.m., History Channel: The new history series chronicles the 14th century demise of the Knights Templar, who were persecuted, tortured and burned at the stake in 1307.


Psych: The Movie, 8 p.m., USA: Gus and Shawn return for a follow-up to the cult series in a special love letter to their fans.

Toy Story That Time Forgot, 8:30 p.m., ABC: A post-Christmas playdate with all the toys takes a scary turn when the gang discovers a village of delusional dinosaur toys, so Trixie has to get her friends safely back to Bonnie's room.

SEASON PREMIERE: The Great Holiday Baking Show, 9 p.m., ABC: The third season premiere has slices of holiday cake and Christmas morning treats.
