The Simone Biles Story: Courage to Soar, 8 p.m., Lifetime: A television bio of the Olympic gymnast, from her being spotted by a local coach at a training center to her years of sacrifices to pursue her dream. Based on Biles' book.

American Experience: The Gilded Age, 9 p.m., PBS: The titans and barons of the late 19th century are spotlighted and contrasted harshly with the poverty of the struggling workers of the era.
Chopped, 10 p.m., Food Network: Four New Orleans chefs take on a Mardi Gras competition with ingredients like po' boys, roux, traditional king cake and boozy coffee.

SERIES PREMIERE: Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, 3 a.m., Netflix: There's a new Fab Five in town and they're ready to offer advice to men struggling with culture, food and wine, interior design, fashion and grooming.
Inside Out, 8 p.m., ABC: The television premiere of the Oscar-winning animated film about a young girl's emotions after she's uprooted from her life in the Midwest and moves to San Francisco.

SEASON PREMIERE: Channel Zero: Butcher's Block, 10 p.m., Syfy: The next season of the anthology series based on horror fan-generated Creepypastas follows two sisters who move to a new city and learn about a series of mysterious disappearances that may or may not be related to a local creepy park.

Thursday

Winter Olympics 2018 Prime Time: Figure Skating, Freestyle Skiing, 8 p.m., NBC: Team competition gets underway and freestyle skiing begins with moguls. The opening ceremony for the Olympics airs at 8 p.m. Friday on NBC.
SEASON PREMIERE: Death in Paradise, 10 p.m., PBS: In the sixth season, the death of a scientist on the side of a live volcano proves a difficult case to crack. Everything appears to point to a death from natural causes.
